The British-made Land Rover had its origins as a derivative of the popular WW2-era Jeep. Like Jeep, the Land Rover was originally available as a single model, but its name has grown to include a range of vehicles. Land Rovers are typically luxuriously appointed, yet competent off-road. The lineup ranges from the affordable LR2 compact SUV to the iconic, and pricey Range Rover. In 2008, Ford sold the Land Rover brand to Tata Motors.
