Although the GMC brand largely duplicates Chevrolet's truck products, strong "professional grade" branding keeps buyers coming back for more. Last year GMC model line benefited from the introduction of an all-new line of full-sized trucks and SUVs. GMC's new Acadia full-size crossover has also been a strong seller.
This year, GMC's full-sized SUV lineup gets a fuel economy boost with the addition of a two-mode hybrid model. The Yukon hybrid pairs two electric motors with the automatic transmission to allow electric-only operation under some driving conditions. The net result is a vehicle with improved fuel economy that retains the truck characteristics buyers are looking for.
